Menstruation is a human rights issue.

Menstruation is a human rights issue.

Right now, over four million women, girls, and people who menstruate in the UK are living in period poverty. Something as fundamental as a period becomes a monthly struggle — not a natural part of life.

At Riley, we believe access to safe, high-performing period care is a basic need. And we’re fighting to make it non-negotiable.

The fight against period poverty

For too many, a period means choosing between products and food, missing school or work, or using makeshift alternatives like toilet roll. We’re breaking that cycle — the shame, the silence, and the systemic barriers that keep menstruation overlooked.

Our Carbon Commitment

We measure all emissions across our operations and supply chain every year and offset the equivalent. Our full carbon footprint has been calculated using the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, ensuring complete transparency and accountability.

But offsetting isn’t the goal — reduction is. Our commitment is to continuously improve our climate impact year after year.

Lower- Impact Packaging

In 2025, Riley took a major step towards reducing packaging waste by transitioning from polyethylene (PE) pouches to FSC-certified boxes for our D2C customers. By choosing FSC-certified boxes, we’re supporting sustainable forestry practices and significantly lowering our environmental footprint.

This change eliminates non-recyclable plastic from our packaging and replaces it with responsibly sourced, fully recyclable materials

Paper-based packaging has the highest recycling rate in Europe, reaching 83.1%.

Cardboard and paper are recycled at far higher rates than plastic packaging at 41%, helping more material stay in circulation and out of landfill.

The Power of Partnership

Change doesn't happen alone. That's why Riley partners with incredible organisations on the ground who are fighting for menstrual equity every day to end period poverty. Together, we've already donated 126,000+ period products and delivered life-changing education programs.

Here's how we're making an impact:

1
Development Pamoja
Kenya
We partner with Development Pamoja, an Irish-registered charity supporting disadvantaged rural communities in Kenya. Their work focuses on practical, high-impact support — primary healthcare, sustainable farming, and community development. With 100% of donations going directly to Kenyan projects, they operate medical centres, demonstration farms, and community hubs in Sarambei and Rongai. Through our partnership, we help fund menstrual health education and provide essential period products to students, ensuring girls can stay in school with dignity and confidence.

Positive Period Ireland
Ireland
We’re proud to partner with Positive Period Ireland, a charity working to end period poverty by providing essential period products to those who otherwise go without. Their volunteers deliver pads and tampons directly to homeless outreach services, Direct Provision centres, and women’s refuges — ensuring support reaches the people who need it most. Through this partnership, Riley donates high-quality, organic period care to help ease the financial and emotional burden faced by thousands of menstruators across Ireland. Together, we’re working to make period dignity a reality, not a privilege.
